Beerbower Park

This project will upgrade and expand the existing baseball/athletic fields to include soccer, thus expanding the open grassy area and creating a multipurpose field.  The current fields are unleveled with many potential hazards in the playing areas.  Two large trees are in the proposed expansion area and will have to be removed.  The sod on the existing fields will be removed and the City of McCleary along with volunteers will level the playing surfaces.  A minimal amount of fill dirt will have to be trucked in for the leveling of the fields.  The City will install a new field irrigation system.

A new automated irrigation system will replace an obsolete system currently in place. Drainage problems will also be addressed and corrected. Fields will be hydro-seeded. This project on the little league field will also add portable fencing, refurbished infield, and rollaway bleachers for the field.                      

The renovation of the softball field entails putting in a new backstop, refurbished infield, and dugouts.  Replacement of existing basketball hoops and the addition of a new court with new hoops will also be included in the project.  An ADA access trail will also be added around the existing facilities. 

The purpose of this application is to bring the existing fields and basketball courts up to an acceptable standard of safe and competitive use. These fields are used by many for recreational purposes and by many organizations including t-ball, coach pitch, boy’s baseball, girl’s fastpitch, and youth soccer.
