Brycen Huff

My name is Brycen Huff. I have lived in McCleary my whole life. My Great Grandpa is the former Mayor Ernie Beerbower who Beerbower park is named after. This is my first term on the city council and I am currently the Mayor Pro-Tem. My vision is to make McCleary a safe place place to live work and play.

Education: McCleary School K-8th, Elma High School 2007, Centralia Community College ATA Criminal Justice 2009, Evergreen State College BA Criminal Justice 2011.

Career: For 20 years I mowed lawns in McCleary, Elma and Olympia. I worked part time in college for Gordy's Pizza in McCleary on Friday nights. After college I worked as a security officer from 2011 to 2017 at Starwood Capital Mall. There I worked as the swing/graveyard shift patrol officer, graveyard sergeant and then promoted to day shift Lieutenant. I currently work for the Washington State Dept. Of Health as a Data Abstractor for the CDC National Violent Death Reporting System. I work closely with law enforcement and coroner / medical examiner offices for statistical analysis of homicides , suicides and drug overdose deaths.

Volunteer work: I have volunteered over the years with the McCleary Bear Festival and at one point served as the co-chair of the festival. I also volunteered for numerous events for the McCleary Chamber of Commerce.

Interest: Yard work, camping, law enforcement and spending time with friends and family.

Interesting fact(s): My favorite animal is a dog...more specifically my English Springer Spaniel Phyllis. Yes named after Phyllis Vance on The Office. I also am a amateur ghost hunter whenever I get the chance.
