SEASONAL LABOR

The City of McCleary has a job opening for a Seasonal Labor position with Public Works. This is a fulltime, temporary position, not to exceed 700 hours. Regularly scheduled work is anticipated to begin in June 2025 and continue through September 2025. Work hours are expected to be 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The current salary is $20.00 per hour. The Seasonal Labor position provides a variety of manual work and light equipment operation in the areas of construction, maintenance, and repair of public facilities.

Minimum Requirements:

 • Must be 18 years of age and have a valid Washington State Driver’s License.

• A good driving record is a condition of employment, and a complete driving abstract may be required.

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and display good judgment.

• Ability to work independently and work as a member of a team.

• Ability to learn the safe and effective operation of various equipment.

• Ability to operate typical construction tools, equipment and vehicles. Including but not limited to small engine tools and equipment.

• Physical strength, and agility to perform manual labor for extended periods of time.

Work Environment: This position typically works in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, traffic, loud noises, fumes or airborne particles, confined spaces, and vibration. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• General landscaping: weed eating, brush cutting, mowing, blowing, raking, debris clean up and removal.

• Operating hand and power tools, vehicles, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

• Complete data collection and complete forms and other documentation in an accurate and time matter.

• Office tasks, and other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
